Wednesday September 9, Wasa Lake Provincial Park BC

Another very grey morning, the sun didn’t come out and it was quite cool. Have had a very leisurely day, went into Cranbrook and wondered around the old part of town, found a good coffee shop for the morning fix, then downloaded our emails. Have just discovered that the Safeway chain of supermarkets have wifi, and very easy to find and get a park. Went to Canadian Tires for some RV supplies, and replaced the 3 plates of the dinnerset that smashed the other day when I forgot to shut the hatch after lunch!

The day was still overcast as we drove onto Kimberley, had a lunch stop on the side of the road. Kimberley is evidently the highest city in Canada, at about 3500 feet, and is a ski town with a real Bavarian flavour. Not much happening there at this time of the year. The clouds cleared and the sun came out, so nice to see the Rockies again as we headed down to Wasa Lake. It’s not a big lake, and is quite low at the moment, but a really nice park set in an open area of Ponderosa Pines.

Haven’t had the bikes off for awhile, and although Ian has a special seat on the bike, he has not been comfortable riding. I took mine off for a 8km ride around the lake on a bike track, it was great getting some fresh air and out in the sunshine, surprising how the body appreciates some solar power!
