Saturday July 30, Preston ID

It’s been a very relaxing day, an enforced rest in a way, which has been quite nice. Great spot that we have been camping in on the road side, no noise or traffic much and in fact after our late night had quite a late sleep in.

For the first time in quite a few days it had been overcast and although the temps were not as hot, there was more humidity. Had our chairs outside on the grass under the trees and it was very pleasant. Apart from wandering around town and grabbing a few supplies, we just lazed around. There were heaps of people in town for the 6.30 parade and the park nearby had music going with a karaoke…..rather interesting at times!

We had got talking to a couple from Salt Lake City yesterday who had a stall selling jewellery. Christie was an agent for the company and her husband John and two girls were with them. So we watched the parade again tonight with them, enjoyed their company. Also met a lady and her daughter who in fact was from Samoa…sorry but have forgotten her name.

Tonights parade was huge, it took over an hour to pass through and all the floats threw lollies, and passed out iceblocks, chocolate milk and cold water. Quite amazing and the kids loved it, imagine having a lolly scramble that lasted an hour!!! Goodness knows what they were going to do with all their lollies. We also met up with Steve who had helped us yesterday, he was keen to see what we had been up to and what we thought of the rodeo. Somehow we have felt very welcomed in Preston.

Then it was off on the bus out to the rodeo again, much wiser this time as we packed our cushions! Tonight was the big night and it was jam packed. Our seats tonight were down the end and didn’t manage the photos the same, but found it good as we were very near where the roping shoots. Once again it was a great atmosphere and enjoyed every minute of the whole show. It has been a great few days in Preston.

Unfortunatly it is raining in in Manchester UK (Nothing new there then) so I wont get to see.
