Wednesday June 28, Sare

Kiwis for lunch!

The weather is very unsettled, heavy rain during the night, then woke to a sunny morning but another thunderstorm early afternoon and as I write looks like more coming in.
It was so good to catch up with Rachel, Steve, Jess and Abby Tucker today, they are in France and Spain for about 8 weeks and are currently staying with friends in nearby Acsain. Lunch was at l’Abbaye Hotel where we sat outside under the trees and as you can imagine, we never stopped talking and sharing our French experiences over some very nice rose’. The thunderstorm drove us inside the hotel for dessert and coffee but it was soon over and walked back to the van in the dry.

Lovely view from our table..except when the rain came!

Decided to have a leisurely afternoon and after some more rain we rode into town on our bikes, Sare really is a very pretty town with nice atmosphere, but we could soon here thunder and only just got home before the rain came again. Feeling a bit unsettled day today thinking of grandson Cody’s hip operation back in New Zealand, hoping all goes well.
Tonight quite a few people around but very damp and grey.

Typical Basque house.

Hi Rainie, after communicating in a limited fashion for much of the time it really is so good to have a long proper chat. Have a great weekend, it is so worthwhile. Ian is managing....
