Before the storm
Not a lot to report today as woke to rain this morning with much cooler temperatures and the forecast to last for much of the day. Decided to stay put and wait to travel in the fine weather that is predicted for tomorrow. Caught up on a few household chores and decided to go to the Restaurant about 100 metres away for a late lunch. Mandy joined us which was very fortuitous as she speaks good French and could explain a lot about the menu…and order for us. Ended up having a salad which included foie gras, smoked duck breast and hot duck pieces. A really good call and I enjoyed the foie gras…..a first for me. It was a very pleasant way to spend a few hours on a wet day.
A very "healthy" lunch.

The rain cleared a little so we walked towards town and picked up a few supplies from the supermarket – not too many as we had to carry them home. Noticed everywhere the peonies are flowering, passed a nice big bush that was crying out for me to pick a bud, but I resisted the temptation! Found some tiny wild roses in a hedgerow that did the job! Spent some time going through the guide books and maps working out what direction we will head. It is such a big country and there is so much to see whatever way we go, and I know we will miss out on some good places.
Popped out for another walk and then the rain came in again so called it quits, such a different evening after the last week when we could sit outside.
Love peonies
The rain had flattened this bush - but I didn't pick any!
