Sun sets on Liz's home in Oracle

Early on in our trip this year we met Liz at the South Beach Camp in Washington. She had spotted the New Zealand stickers on the van, came over to see us as her daughter lives in NZ and we ended up having many long chats and as a result she invited us to visit her in Oracle, a small town in the mountains near Tucson.
We drove up today and just loved leaving the heat of Tucson behind as we climbed from 2500 to almost 5000 feet to Oracle and the temperature dropped from over 30 degrees C to a very comfortable 24.
It was so good to catch up with Liz again and be welcomed into her home, with its tiled floors, large open doors and windows and big veranda’s sitting on top of a hill. Have had the most relaxing afternoon and evening.
Liz is a remarkable lady, a retired psychologist who at 77 enjoys travelling with her tent for many months during the summer, walking, writing and just enjoying life. I think you will enjoy reading the blog which she is just starting.  www.thetentsoloist.com
